Se podrían formular las ecuaciones cosmológicas sobre la evolución del Universo, siempre que todo el cosmos cumpliese parámetros isotópicos y homogéneos ("principio cosmológico"), es decir, que el Universo presente el mismo aspecto en todas las direcciones (isotropía), y que independientemente del lugar desde donde se observe ofrezca la misma imagen (homogeneidad). No obstante, desde nuestra posición en el Universo existen limitaciones importantes para obtener datos con que generar un modelo válido, pues las ecuaciones requieren información sobre la masa contenida, la cual es muy difícil de obtener porque el 90% del Universo es una masa oscura, y por tanto no observable. Lo que sí está confirmado por las observaciones, es que nos encontramos ante un Universo en expansión.

It might be formulated the cosmological equations on the evolution of the Universe, providing that the whole cosmos was fulfilling isotopic and homogeneous parameters (" cosmological principle "), that is, that the Universe presents the same aspect in all the directions(isotropy), and that independently of the place from where it is observed offers the same image (homogeneity). Nevertheless, from our position in the Universe important limitations exist to obtain information with which to generate a valid model, since the equations need information about the contained mass, which is very difficult to obtain because the 90 % of the Universe is a dark mass, and therefore not observable. What is confirmed by the observations, is that we are in front of a Universe in expansion.
